Solitudine Interlude - Jeugd zonder Ouderdom soundtrack
Music composed for the storytelling project "Jeugd zonder ouderdom en leven zonder dood", based on a Romanian fairytale.
A prince only accepts to get born when promised Ageless youth and Life without Death. When coming of age he demands his father what he was promised, but the king confesses that he cannot fulfill his promise. The prince realizes he must search for it himself so after a long journey with dangerous battles, he arrives to the Land of Ageless youth and lives there happily for a while. One day he unintentionally crosses the Valley of Lament which makes his longing for home unbearable. He must abandon his new life and go back to his homeland. What he does not realize is that centuries had passed since he made the journey to the magic lands and all he will find in the places where he was born are legends about himself and a castle in ruins.
This piece is made for the moment of separation of the prince: the story details how much all the members of the court were concerned and sad with the fact the the prince had chosen to leave. The same theme is used at the end where the prince finds the castle in ruins.
